A wife to my grade school crush, Stephen, mom to Brooks – 4 and Maddie – 1, and daughter of John, a restauranteur who has kept me working, in the business, since I was 10.
Life got, over the top busy, after my daughter was born. My son developed some extreme aversions to anything other than Mac and Cheese. In no small part, I’m sure, because my husband had an extreme aversion to almost everything other than Bacon and French Fries. He has come a long way though in the last few years, but the challenge to feed my family got REAL.
Enter my mom, Judy. She saw my struggles, and online attempts at meal prepping and suggested we meal prep together. Wait, WHAT? Go to my parents house, and cook, and have a glass of wine? Bring the kids for my sister, or dad, to watch? Then go home with meals for the week? I couldn’t WAIT for that first night of cooking.
It was everything I’d hoped it would be…..until…it got even better. “Pinot and Prep,” with my mom, and “Preparing at Home.” This has helped simplify things in my life so much. I am putting healthy meals on the table while saving so much time.
Wife to John, a restauranteur who has kept me working, in the business, for 30 years. Mom and Grandma. I’ve always loved anything “home.” Cooking, cleaning, decorating. Not the best at it but I love trying!Having meals, ready to eat, has always been a huge help to me. It’s hard for me to resist our restaurant’s Club Sandwich unless I bring lunch to work. When I saw my daughters, Angie and Brooke, trying Whole30, and discussing at length their attempts at having meals ready to go, and my third daughter, Katie, posting cooking videos, I thought, “Hmmm, we’re all trying to do the same thing.” I knew that meal prepping would be a win win for all of us.
It took about two seconds to get everybody on board. We all loved it! But when Katie, and I, hit upon the idea of prepping only, not cooking, I KNEW we were on to something that would definitley make life easier.
I’m pretty sure someone, out there, is doing this already – I don’t think we are reinventing the wheel – but if there is anyone, reading this, who hasn’t tried this concept – we HOPE you will and we HOPE it will make your life a little less complicated! That is our goal!
Now…get a friend a get chopping!
